Mt Olympus (Uludag): The highest area in western Anatolia, Mt Olympus is easily ascended by car or cable-car. Mt Olympos is a popular center for winter sports such as skiing, and a national park of rich flora and fauna, with an altitude of 2,543 m (8,343 ft). Summer activities, such as trekking and camping, also are popular. Habitats of the park range from maquis on the lower slopes, through deciduous woodland and beech and fir forest to alpine meadows at the highest levels. It is a refuge for mountain birds, such as Lammergeier and other vultures, Golden Eagle and more than 20 other raptor species.
Green Mosque (Yesil Camii): Green Mosque, also known as Mosque of Mehmed I, is a part of the larger complex (a kulliye) consists of a mosque, turbo (tomb), madrasah (school), kitchen and bath. The Green Mosque can be shown as the perfect blend between architecture and embellishment, the proof that such works of art were produced in a country where the battles between siblings had come to an end and peace had returned.
Green Mausoleum (Yesil Turbe): Green Tomb is a mausoleum of the fifth Ottoman Sultan, Mehmed I, in Bursa, Turkey. It was built by Mehmed's son and successor Murad II following the death of the sovereign in 1421. The architect, Hacı Ivaz Pasha designed the tomb and the Yeşil Mosque opposite to it. Iznik tiles with flower patterns in blue, white and yellow adorn the portal.
Grand Mosque (Ulu Camii): Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in Bursa and a landmark of early Ottoman architecture which used many elements from the Seljuk architecture. Ordered by Sultan Bayezid I, the mosque was designed and built by architect Ali Neccar in 1396–1400. It is a large rectangular building, with twenty domes arranged in four rows of five that are supported by twelve columns. Supposedly the twenty domes were built instead of the twenty separate mosques which Sultan Bayezid I had promised for winning the Battle of Nicopolis in 1396. There is also a fountain inside the mosque where worshipers can perform ritual ablutions before prayer; the dome over the fountain is capped by a skylight which creates a soft light below, playing an important role in the illumination of the large building.
